There are many questions that pop up in my head. Could have Hitler been successful? Could he have been famous for his art? Would of his art been sold? Why wasn't he not determined to accomplish his dream of being an artist? This questions all lead up to one question. How would of history been different if Hitler became an artist? Well, there wouldn't been World World II and about six million Jews dead. Well, that is the basic answer of a first grader. Lets expand. Here's some background info that leads up to not being an artist: "Hitler lived a bohemian life in Vienna, financed by orphan's benefits and support from his mother. He worked as a casual [laborers] and eventually as a painter, selling [watercolors] of Vienna's sights. Vienna's Academy of Fine Arts rejected him in 1907 and again in 1908, citing "unfitness for painting"" (Adolf Hitler 1).There is something weird that I believe will become a big lead into why he didn't become an artist. Where is his father? His father was never mentioned. He got support from his mother and an orphan's benefits place. Where is the father in the equation? This just explains that his mother tried to help her son become successful, but she couldn't. There is a saying that states: a building can't stand on its own without the support of concrete and nails. Now we are getting somewhere. His father "[i]gnor[ed] his son's desire to attend a classical high school and become an artist, [instead he] sent [him] to the Realschule in Linz in September 1900" (Adolf Hitler 1). What father ignores his son's desires? This is just crazy. This leads me to understand why Hitler's father is also part of the blame of the start of World War II. People are thinking and are saying what is this crazy boy talking about. I tell you what I am talking about. If his stupid father cared about his son, his son would have been famous for his art not infamous about exterminating six million Jews. His father should of have been ashamed of himself because he knows that if he showed his son the right path he would of have been successful. "After the academy's second rejection, Hitler ran out of money and was forced to live in homeless shelters and men's hostels" (Adolf Hitler 1). Where is his father? Nowhere but six feet underground. What did his father do for him? Nothing. His father died as a loser because he did not do anything that changed his son's life and his wife's life. Instead, he left his wife to die with cancer. What a shameful man? Five words that describe Hitler's father: a man disgrace to society.

Everything that Hitler talks about is in Mein Kampf. "In his autobiography Mein Kampf, Hitler described how, in his youth, he wanted to become a professional artist, but his aspirations were ruined because he had no support by his father, and he failed the entrance exam of the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna" (Paintings by Adolf Hitler 1).This website is similar info to the first site because they both specify that there was no support by the father. Like I said earlier, if there was support Hitler would have been the best artist during that time period. Instead, he was lead into rubbish. Another thing that I wanted to point out was that, Hitler never gave up. Here's my proof: "Hitler was rejected twice by the institute, once in 1907 and again in 1908" (Paintings by Adolf Hitler 1). If he truly gave up why would he try again. Even though he got rejected twice, he still had hope. "One of the instructors, sympathetic to his situation and believing he had some talent, suggested that he apply to Academies School of Architecture. However, that would have required returning to secondary school from which he had dropped out and which he was unwilling to do" (Paintings by Adolf Hitler 1). Yes, one of the instructors told him he had a talent of art, but did not tell him or help him throughout secondary school, a school he hated. He hated secondary school because he was forced to be put there. He knows if he went back he would fail. That instructor could have made a difference in Hitler's life if only he showed him how to be successful at secondary school. What if Hitler went to secondary school and listened to that instructor? What would of happened? I will tell you one thing: World War II would of not happened.

Even though without an actual degree in art, he still continued to do art as witnessed in his book of horror. "Before amassing his fortune with the enormous royalties from the publication of his hugely popular Mein Kampf, Hitler earned a living by using his artistic skills to produce paintings that were sold to the public or used for postcards" (Hitler's Art 1). Now, he is the only one in his family. He never truly had a role model as young child, so he had to enjoy life without anyone. How would you feel? Personally, this would be horrible, but he kind of became successful. The other websites just mentioned how he was a failure, but this one mentions how he was going in the right path. "Hitler was a great student of the fine arts and studied music, opera, painting, sculpture, and architecture" (Hitler's Art 1). He did this without a family. This truly makes me amazed who truly Hitler was. He worked really hard to get to this point. He also had ideas for the future that are in Germany today. "Perhaps the notion of an artist becoming a political seems strange in the current era where politics are dominated by professional politicians, it was Hitler's profound artistic vision that translated from his dreams into reality the Autobahn, Volkswagen, Rocket Science, and in the general the groundwork for a prosperous people and flourishing culture before this was lost in World War 2" (Hitler's Art). He was a true artist that wanted to be successful. He also did it during the times of war, but something happened that caused him to lose it. There is a saying that I still tell my friends today: you better use or you will lose it. How did this happen to him? Why did he stop? What happened to him? It's still a mystery to me and everyone to what happened to the great successful Hitler.
